I am facing acidity during the fast, what should I do?

It is absolutely normal to experience acidity during a fast. Please remember, it is a detox symptom and it is temporary.

First, let's understand what is acidity. Acidity happens when we keep eating throughout the day, and our stomach keeps digesting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It never gets a chance to rest. As a result, it loses it's natural ability and starts releasing acids (digestive juices) even when it's not supposed to, that is, even when there is no food inside the stomach. Hence, the acids hit the stomach lining and it causes pain. Fasting will be extremely beneficial for any person suffering from acidity. It might be difficult in the beginning and the stomach might ache. But after 3-4 days, the stomach will regain its natural functioning. On the 3rd or 4th day, you will not feel pain, even while fasting. If you never give your stomach a rest, acidity will never be cured.

Here are the things you can do to get relief -
- Please take proper rest
- If you have wet pack, apply it thrice a day
- If you have an enema, take the enema twice a day - once in the morning & once in the evening
- Sunbathe for 30 minutes every day (only in the light morning/evening sun)
- Do not consume any medicines

- If you're doing an advanced level fast, please switch to beginners level fast
